Wildlife Connections: No More OTC—What New Elk Licensing Means for Hunters
Major changes are coming to elk hunting in the Gunnison Basin. Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission recently approved eliminating over-the-counter (OTC) bull elk licenses for second and third rifle seasons in Game Management Units 54, 55, and 551. Beginning this year, hunters will need to apply through the annual draw to hunt bull elk in these units.
